CAIRNS
When you’re young, the party life in Cairns is really good – there’s always something going on. There’s also nice beaches. Cairns is well-placed for weekend trips to Port Douglas and Kuranda. The town is also a good size because it’s not too big so there’s not too much waiting around in traffic.
The staff are good in Cairns– they’re supportive, helpful and good to be around. There’s a lot of mining experience to be had here that you might not get elsewhere. I work on repairing components from the mines and installing updates on trucks including 992s, 797s and 789s.
I do kite boarding in the ocean, I don’t think about the stingers, I’m more worried about the crocs! I go kiteboarding year round, it’s pretty warm up here and there are a lot of people who do it. We go to the beaches on the north side of Cairns. I also do motorcross.
